Post subject: manual proxy settings in ME 8.6 resetting  PostPosted: Sep 04, 2010 - 03:40 PM

I just downloaded MyEclipse 8.6 on a machine that has been re-imaged (brand new install of windows XP with no previous MyEclipse installation).

My company requires proxy authentication to get most anywhere. So I did the following steps:

1) windows
2) Preferences
3) Typed "network" in the search box
4) clicked on the network menu entry
5) selected manual on the drop-down box
6) entered the proxy info
7) checked the "Requires Authentication" checkbox
8) entered my username and password

When I go back in, the username and password information is missing.

Here is the entry in the log files:
logs/profile-rmb-1053993-2.log:INFO: Failure authenticating with NTLM <any realm>@http-gateway.nwie.net:80

I've tried the fixes that were proposed to 7.0, but it doesn't work for 8.6

Any ideas?

gskidmor,

1) Are you specifying an HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS proxy (or all?)
2) Are only the username and password wiped out - are the other proxy details persisted?
3) Are there any other errors in the log? Try clearing the log (Window > Show View > Other > General > Error Log), setting the proxy details on the preference page and click OK. Then check for any errors (or reopen the page) before attempting to access the Internet through MyEclipse. Are the auth details still wiped?
